To start with, the Steinbecker Runde is a great way to start in fantastic weather. At 7.5 km, it's a bit longer. According to the description, 80 meters in elevation is easily doable. Lovely route with a canal, hidden paths through the forest and fields, and some lovely views.
Start of the hike on the Recke fitness trail. Hikers can discover traces of mining history here. There are ships on the canal, the marina harbor, Buchholz tunnel, observation tower, mine hut and a café roastery are on the way. (Next to Edeka at the church) A very varied hike ***** ! Jürgen Ritter
The premium walking trail "Teutoschleifchen Steinbecker Runde" with the motto "Canal and Coal" combines a nice, varied circular tour with a little mining history. The tour begins in the center of Steinbeck at the parish church of St. Philippus and Jakobus, which was built between 1889 and 1893 and later expanded. It is worth visiting the inside of the church. Even if the actual chancel appears rather plain at first glance, there are two beautiful wooden reliefs of the birth and resurrection of Christ by the artist Anton Rüller from Münster in the altar area of the church. In addition, the stations of the Passion of Jesus are illustrated with very beautiful wooden reliefs. If the sun is in the right position, you can also take a nice look at the choir window from the stained glass by J. Matschinski with its theologically interesting program. From Steinbeck, the route first goes along the Mittelland Canal to the Marina Recke with its small marina. From there, it goes through fields to the Buchholz Forest. The Buchholz Forest is considered the cradle of Ibbenbüren mining and has a history of around 450 years. The Buchholz Mine Plan, the oldest map of the Ibbenbüren coalfield, was drawn up by the Oranges as early as 1650. Even if you can no longer dig for "black gold" here today, evidence and display boards of coal mining provide an introduction to the history of mining. In addition to the entrance to the Buchholz tunnel ("Steinbeck tunnel") from 1752, there are mining relics at the Buchholz shaft hut, as well as a wooden observation tower ("Buchholz conveyor tower"), and also elements that were only added later. From the Buchholz Forest we head back to our starting point in Steinbeck. --- This hike is part of our collection: "Hiking in the Tecklenburger Land" https://www.komoot.de/collection/1464991/-wandern-im-tecklenburger-land
Today, spontaneously with the beautiful weather, finally tackled the Teutoschleife Steinbecker Runde 😉 . With the sunshine it could only be beautiful.😃
Today we went to Steinbeck, because on the homepage https://www.teutoschleifen.de, in addition to hiking, the treasure hunt / geocache option was advertised and as an old cacher I have to go there. First we went a little along the canal, then after a good 2 km we could feast for the first time 😁. Then continue through beautiful fields into the forest over very beautiful paths and a great barefoot walk to the beautiful view with a lot of memories of the local mining history. After a rest, he went Stein back to Steinbeck. Unfortunately the treasure hunt wasn't great, missing treasures, missing letters, etc. Conclusion hiking top 👍🏻 Geocache care flop 👎🏻 🌳 Good guidance 🌳Interesting places / beautiful views 🌳Relaxation 🌳Pure nature, game and plants 🌳 Benches and places to linger 🌳A shelter on the route 🎁 Treasure hunt / geocache poor maintenance in the Outdoor part In my personal ranking, the Steinbecker Runde gets everyone 🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳 because it's about hiking As a treasure hunter and family fun, as advertised, I cannot recommend them based on the current state of the cache. have fun hiking.
Today we went for a little walk with one of my sisters, starting from my parents' house 🏠the Teutoschleife Steinbecker Runde is a good option 🔄a bit of everything, road, forest and field paths, and the sun 🌞 even made an appearance 😃it was beautiful.
Was a very nice hike in the most beautiful spring weather
We, five adults and two dogs, walked the Teutoschleife "Steinbecker Runde" at -4°C, with a few minor changes. Sun was forecast... unfortunately it missed its appearance. It was quite hazy and everything was dusted with a little "icing sugar". Even at this time of year, the Teutoschleife has its charm.
