A beautiful route with many great views of Tecklenburg and the surrounding area. It's quite up and down.
Some Komoot hiking friends were out and about in Tecklenburg today dressed up as witches and warlocks and collected donations. Of course we wanted to see that. If you didn't make it to Tecklenburg, you can still donate. Information about this can be found in the photo. You looked good!!!
So that the somewhat longer journey (1 hour 15 minutes) was worth it, I hiked the Teutoschleifchen on "Modersohn's footsteps" (a little more than 4 km) around the beautiful mountain town of Tecklenburg, which is really worth it 😉 The well-known painter Otto Modersohn was one of the co-founders of the artists' colony in Worpswede and often stayed with his brother in Tecklenburg at the end of the 19th century (1880/90s). There are some exposed landscape points on the hiking trail that served as a motif for Modersohn. Corresponding steles can be found on the spot with the painted motifs and explanations 😉 With a visit to the museum of the same name in the heart (market place) of Tecklenburg... the new Modersohn exhibition since October 1st, 2022 is worth it.... was a wonderful hiking day rounded 😊
You park in the free parking lot of the Tecklenburger Waldfreibad. From here we start in the direction of the Kurpark. Before that, however, we go down and up again through the forest, which offers us beautiful views of the Schafberg near Ibbenbüren. In the spa park we find a small, fine herb garden. And again and again we read about wisdom about health that Sebastian Kneipp already recognized 💦 👣 The cute little town of Tecklenburg has many beautiful half-timbered houses. There is also an open-air stage here. https://www.freilichtspiele-tecklenburg.de/ There are plenty of places to stop for refreshments before heading back past the forest pool to your destination.
