The starting point is in the center of Faverges-Seythenex. Ideally located, this locality has a relatively wide range of accommodation and catering options. Leaving Faverges-Seythenex, you immediately immerse yourself in the intimacy of the Tamié valley.
When the route leaves the main road, the steepest climb awaits you. At the end of the ascent, the slope softens and takes you to the Col de Tamié. Its strategic location allows you to observe a fort of the same name. Built during the 19th century, it served to protect the eponymous abbey which is located a little further down. It has now been converted into a leisure center.
From the pass, you turn around towards Faverges-Seythenex. After about a kilometer of descent, take a detour to go to Tamié Abbey. Trappist monks have occupied it for several centuries. They produce a famous cheese there, Tamié. Return to the route at the bottom of the valley and then complete the descent to Faverges-Seythenex.
