A tour of the charming resort based on the motifs of historical postcards

If you would like to compare the lifestyle of past times with the current time in Wieck, you will have the opportunity to do so on this circular route through the resort. There are seven historical postcards at selected locations that enable a direct comparison between the present and the past.

But this tour is also ideal for a nice walk through the town itself.

A flyer for the circular route is also available in the Darßer Arche in the center of Wieck, which contains information about the individual stations and a map. The Darßer Arche is also your starting point with a parking space on site (Bliesenrader Weg 2).

Wieck Windmill

There used to be four windmills in the small fishing village of Wieck. However, only one has survived to this day. Slightly hidden between the thatched houses, it now leads a relatively quiet existence and is often overlooked. Reemtsma House on Prerower Straße

Highlight • Historical Site

In the first half of the 20th century, the cigarette manufacturer Philip Reetsma evaded taxes on a considerable scale. In order to avoid criminal proceedings, he donated a certain amount to the Prussian state for cultural purposes, nature conservation and hunting. This meant that his tax debt was forgiven. From these funds, six of the so-called Reemtsma houses were built in various places on the Darß in 1938. Here on Prerower Strasse, a Reemtsma house served to accommodate the local council.

The path is not signposted on site, however.
