You should be in good physical condition for this round trip to Mondsee and back. As an ambitious recreational cyclist, you can enjoy the route, even if there are a few climbs waiting for you.
Today you start in Eugendorf. You cycle via the Salzkammergut cycle path via Thalgau towards Mondsee. The spectacular mountain panorama of the Alps accompanies you with the striking Drachenwand on your right. When you arrive at Mondsee you have the first opportunity to jump into the cool water at Plomberg. Or you can continue cycling and find some welcome freshness in the shady bike tunnel. The way the tunnel was carved into the rock is impressive and allows you to drive right along the water on this beautiful section.
In Oberburgau you reach the north bank and follow the route across fields and through forests to the town of Mondsee. Here you are spoiled for choice. You can stroll along the beach promenade to the Alpine resort. There you can of course swim in the lake, but you can also try out the slide park. In the town itself, the Mondsee Museum is worth several visits. The museum is divided into an open-air, monastery, local history and transport museum. The basilica of the former St. Michael monastery is also extremely worth seeing.
Then you make your way to Irrsee. There are valuable moorland areas around the lake. At various locations you have the opportunity to find out about the special diversity of the moor. Refuges and rest areas invite you to take in the moor in peace and quiet. Shortly after the Irrsee, a decent climb up to Sighartstein awaits you. When it gets flatter, don't forget to take a look around and enjoy the view of the Irrsee again from up here.
In Eugendorf you reach the starting point of your bike tour. Here you have several options to reward yourself with traditional and local delicacies. For savory delights, we can recommend the Gasthof Neuhofen, the Römergolf restaurant, the Calouba Californian Kitchen, the Aichingerwirt and the Eichingerbauer. If you'd rather snack on something sweet, stop by Café Braun. Good cakes and lots of flair await you in one of the city's oldest cafés.

I didn't have my GPS device on, ... and I overlooked the fact that I had to turn right. When I noticed, I turned around and went back. ...(km 12.4 to km 17.7) The weather was good. With temperatures of around 20 C to 25 C, the ride was very pleasant. This time I also had swimming trunks with me. Once I went to Lake Mondsee, once to Lake Wallersee. I did drive down to the lake twice at Lake Irrsee, but I only looked. ... The lakes in the Salzkammergut actually all look good, ... on today's ride I liked Lake Mondsee the best. ... It's always worth going around again. ... On speed: a little faster, time in the saddle 05:24h with an average of 20.0 km/h.
