Hikes along the wild streams in the High Fens are always a pleasure. Today (exceptionally) we didn't go to the Hoëgne, but to the two parallel streams Sawe and Stätte. Despite the low water level (due to the drought), it was a wonderful tour. Recommendation for a break (only a few kilometers away): https://www.mrigi.be/ More tours in the Fens can be found in my collection: https://www.komoot.com/de-de/collection/1810118/-ostbelgien-hohes-venn-ardennen
Today's program included a small adventure tour at the Statte and Sawe in Solwaster, Belgium. Our friends Ulrike and Ralf didn't know this tour yet. Since we liked the tour in 2021 so much, we went with them again today. 🤩 On this 10 km long round trip you walk through beautiful nature, a landscape to fall in love with.😍🥾
One of the most beautiful circular routes in this region for us. Initially along the Sawe through a picturesque valley. Up to the Venn Plateau and then along the Satte back to the valley. Many waterfalls rush along the way, but you can also find peace in the wooded sections. This tour gets 95 experience points from us. Have fun! Update Feb. 2022: From the upper Venn plateau, about halfway, the tour has to be modified a bit because the original path has been "cleared away". New route updated
Today we did another tour in East Belgium. Our tour took us to the valley of the Statte and Sawe where we followed the black rivers. Those who like root paths and rocky terrain and also the Venn will be absolutely happy on this tour. The impressions in this unique nature will overwhelm you. We found them MEGA Danger! Exercise extreme caution in damp and / or wet weather. You lay down faster than you would like. It should be really painful on the rocks. Sensible hiking equipment is a must, sneakers and sneakers are absolutely impossible!
Wonderful tour through two valleys, the La Statte and the Sawe, one more beautiful than the other. Thanks @MoRi for the inspiration.
Always nice and quiet along the Sawe and the Statte. Toppers among the streams 👌
