Trail Reviews

Les Randos De Melo
November 20, 2021, Scy (Hamois) - Les plus beaux villages de Wallonie - Balade en Belgique - Patrimoine naturel.

Did you know that the name “Scy” comes from the Latin “vicus secaricus” which evokes a place where we sawed wood? ☺ A small village in my native region that I know well, whose crazy charm never ceases to amaze me. A mist or a ray of sunshine is enough to change the atmosphere of this beautiful, bucolic village. His history on the timeline shows how many people fell under his spell. From the Roman era, through the Dukes of Burgundy, Emperor Maximilian of Austria or the King of Spain, Philip IV, who pledged the land to finance his wars. Formerly agricultural and forestry, Scy has been able, despite the weather, to retain its architectural beauty. The pleasure of strolling in the streets of the village as well as its surrounding countryside is a real pleasure for those who know how to appreciate. A careful eye will also be able to observe or hear the very characteristic call of the black woodpecker. Or a gray heron in a meadow. Between fields and groves, each landscape is beautiful in a rejuvenating calm. There are many essentials on this lovely walk. From the source of Bocq via the Sans-Soucis castle, or the pretty pink half-timbered house, the discoveries are more beautiful than the others. ❗️ Set the viewing to HD for maximum video quality because sometimes Youtube restricts this setting by default. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yibkQwlwhV8
