A nice but not spectacular walk, without hills this time. Just across the border with Belgium, we started at the Achelse Kluis (Hamont) with coffee and delicious pie. There is also a brewery at this abbey 😋 which we did not visit today. Just after the start of our walk we passed the 'barbed wire monument', the infamous 'Death Wire' from WWII. Walked almost 12 km on sometimes muddy (and long) paths along fens, along fairly tall ferns and through forests. Between the fields, a strong headwind caused red cheeks 😊, but at least it stayed dry. Beautiful farms seen, some with a special round covered 'lunge circle' for horses. Finally along the Tongelreep, a water with a name familiar to many, back to our starting point.
