Today is 7-7, a day that is special for several reasons. It's my granddaughter's birthday, but for me this date has an even deeper meaning: the 7-7 Portal. Anyone who knows me knows that I have a special connection with the number 7. On this day last year, I returned from a retreat in the Cathar region. Two days earlier, on 5-7, Mary Magdalene appeared at the Labyrinth I was walking. She told me she would come back. This year, on the same date, she appeared again and gave me a special assignment: to walk all the routes of Ons Kloosterpad in Brabant to find inspiration for my book "God in Disguise." I was instructed to also start on 7-7. Today I started my first walk: the Berne Abbey Walk in Heeswijk and surrounding areas. It was a route full of signals, all connected by the number 7.
Why is it called: in 7 kilometers around Heeswijk Castle, if the total route is 10.5 km?
Round trip from Berne Abbey. First through the village, then along the edge and then into the countryside. Here I come across the first dirt road, it will not be the last. The walk is on beautiful trails. I pass the Meierijsche museum where unfortunately a fire destroyed a lot. Then some long trails that I always find a bit boring myself. Then I arrive at Heeswijk Castle, which remains a beautiful building. A little further and a bit along the Aa and over a nice path back to Heeswijk-Dither. The route leads past the church back to the abbey. Tip: they sell delicious beers in the abbey shop.
