The Vanil de l'Ecri is the second highest peak in the canton of Friborg and has a second name, it is also called Sur Combe and is at 2376m. Its well known neighbor the Vanil Noir is 13m higher at 2389m.
The path to the Vanil de l'Ecri is a lot less exposed than the Vanil Noir. Nevertheless, you should be sure-footed and have a head for heights, as the upper part is quite steep. In the Vanil Noir nature reserve there is a large population of ibex.
