Definitely recommend starting at the top of the small cable car & hike up steeper trail and down sculpture trail
We took the Pizzo Di Claro cable car up to 1,308 m above sea level. The Ticino ticket is also valid for the cable car, and you can go there and back for 13 Swiss francs per person. Once at the top, we continued on foot towards Capanna Brogoldone, a wonderful SAC hut with a small restaurant. The hut is at 1,910 m above sea level.
