Beautiful circular hike from Claro to the still inhabited monastery of St. Maria Assunta and back to Claro.
Spring and Ticino - a symbiosis, especially when a strong northern foen keeps the misty layer of the Po Valley away. May-green deciduous trees, intense colors below, snowy peaks above. The route went steeply up through wild chestnut forests and flatter down over the cobbled monastery path.
Ascension weekend with Birgit in Ticino: After our arrival in Claro, where we rented a small holiday apartment for the next few days, before dinner we took a short hike up to the monastery high above the town and the Levantina plain.
