This route was planned by komoot.
Although I usually avoid taking a journey longer than around an hour for day trips, I let myself be persuaded to do it this time. The journey through the Simmental and Saanenland is beautiful, but not particularly efficient. So we were on the road for around 2 hours to start our hike on the Col des Mosses. Since the mountain peaks were still heavily overcast, it was not a problem that we only set off on our hike shortly before midday. The route mostly leads steadily uphill on T2 paths. There are relatively many meters of elevation in just a few kilometers. Since I turned my watch on too late once, around 100 meters of elevation must be added to this. On the way, the fog partially cleared and we had a wonderful view of Lac Lioson. When you get to the Pic Chaussy hiking sign, you are not quite at the top yet. You can go right and climb a few more meters. This takes you to a viewpoint that offers a wonderful panoramic view. Among other things, Mont Blanc is clearly visible. For the descent we chose the path that leads past Lac Lioson. We stopped at the restaurant there and enjoyed the wonderful nature by the lake. I really enjoyed this little-known hike, although a long journey there and back is still not my thing.
From the Col de Mosses to the Pic Chaussy with a wonderful panoramic view. I would recommend going right at the second junction (above the upper car park) and first hiking to the Pic Chaussy and only then to the lake. If you prefer to hike from A to B, you can also go left there, first to the lake and then from the Pic Chaussy descend on the back side to Les Diablerets. There is also a restaurant at Lac Lioson. Since the upper car park is not far, it is quite busy at the restaurant/lake.
Family hike. Done in 4:14 with 1 hour break in walk mode. Allow about 3h30 walking normally. The lake is in the shade in the morning until 12 noon. Easy ascent to the lake in 30 minutes. Unobstructed 360 degree viewpoint at the top.
The descent was made without the continuously active GPS localization and few localizations were carried out
