This route was planned by komoot.
We start from Orino going up the mule track that passes by Fonte Gesiola. Before the Noci plain, take the path on the left, where the first part is quite marked and passable, the second is very demanding and often gets lost. Not recommended path, to do everything on the ridge anyway. You arrive at the Fort (or peak) of Orino, where the panorama is truly suggestive at 360", with the lakes and the Alpine chain. For the descent you take the "traditional" route, much more marked and passable. Quick point to the floor delle Noci, with its beautiful bivouac always open, and you return from the opposite mule track, to complete the ring..
Today I wasn't able to do the ring, as the return path was probably not the best, and in any case I was also alone. However, on the way back, when I arrived at a certain point at the crossroads on the outward journey, I followed a part of the path that I didn't do on the return journey. In my opinion, reversing the route is more feasible anyway. However, it was a nice, challenging excursion at the right point.
The forecast called for snow from 500 metres, perfect weather for a tour of the Orino fort. On the way back, stop at the small Pian delle Noci refuge. https://youtube.com/shorts/07W4NYx79XQ?feature=shared
At the Orino Fort, for the usual concert by the Val Tinella Choir, with some snow at high altitude. https://youtu.be/VHGlb9-8m3c?feature=shared
We had half a day free, and given the favorable weather, we decided to head towards the Fort or Punta di Orino, because only a few ruins of the Fort remain. The ascent is challenging, but doable: the first segment arrives in the Pian delle Noci area, then you take the path to the Punta, with more challenging slopes. At the summit you have a splendid 360* degree view, which ranges from the lake area to the snow-capped Swiss/Piedmontese peaks. On the way back, a quick stop at the Pian delle Noci bivouac and Fonte Gesiola, where you can visit the beautiful commemoration dedicated to the Alpini.
