View of the Hollywood Sign from Hollywood Reservoir

Highlight • Viewpoint

This large man made reservoir set in the Hollywood Hills provides a substantial amount of the freshwater for the city of Los Angeles. The flat paved loop around it is an easy, flat, nearly three and a half mile route that takes you around the total perimeter of the reservoir itself. It affords you stunning views and one that includes the view of the famed Hollywood sign high up on the hill.

Upper Lake Hollywood

Highlight • Lake

This is the furthest point of your run around Lake Hollywood and this is the tadpole tail tip of Upper Lake Hollywood. However if you are a bit hot and bothered you can't go into the water, which is a pity. The surrounding trails are peaceful though so that may make up for the missed cooling dip. Considering the nearby vicinity of Los Angeles, this is quite a heavenly tranquil run loop.

Cahuenga Peak

Highlight • Summit

Although Cahuenga Peak is the highest point in Griffith Park, it is mostly overshadowed by its slightly smaller neighbor, Mt. Lee, with its many antennas and the famous billboard that once advertised real estate sales in the hills above Hollywood. In fact, until recently, Cahuenga Peak wasn't even part of the park, but was previously owned by the Howard Hughes Estate for over 60 years.
