From the Orino fort, on clear days, you can enjoy a fantastic 360-degree view of the Varese lakes, the plain towards Milan, Lake Maggiore and the Borromean islands, Mottarone, a long stretch of the Alpine arch and, above all, Monte Rosa. Currently, trail 301, which is the only easy route to reach the place, is only open on weekends and holidays due to the restoration work on a very large part of the forest destroyed by the Vaia storm in 2018. Seeing the territory so devastated is disconcerting 😒
We leave and immediately climb ... 10km of effort to then enjoy a truly wonderful panorama.
The aim was to make the path from Mte Pizzelle to Castello Cabaglio. I explored it and it looked very nice. Unfortunately it was all in the shade and in a day like this I preferred to go to the side in the sun and enjoy it to the fullest. To be redone in the summer
