Imperative, come early for the colors (7:30 a.m. - 8 a.m. in September) Very few people It goes up steeply at the beginning and goes down very steeply at the end (hard! hard! knees), but what a view of Lake Auber! The path gets lost on the banks of Lake Aumar, you have to pay attention to the route. Stunning ! Stunning ! Hiking The upper car park is accessible before 9:30 a.m., after which you must wait until 6 p.m. to use the road. Except that in this month of September, the barrier is always lifted at 2 p.m.! A beautiful 5-hour hike (with breaks and snacks) which will make you discover 4 splendid lakes. First of all, from the car park (paying €7 for a 6-hour day) you can contemplate Lake Orédon. Then you start to climb via the stepped path to reach the Laquettes. Great place to enjoy nature. Finally, you continue to climb to Lac d'Aubert where you can take a short break before completing the last meters and reaching Lac d'Aumar. This lake is quite simply the prettiest in the area. Perfect for bathing, resting in the shade and eating snacks. Once you have gone around the lake via the north face, you can either continue to climb towards the upper lake (be careful, big climb), or continue south-east on the GR10 to reach the starting point. Watch out for the last descent, it is long and very steep, take care of your joints and your knees. Feel free to use your walking sticks. A superb hike to do.
