St Mark’s Church Lychgate, Peaslake

The graveyard is a little to the south of St Mark's Church in Peaslake. Set in a peaceful location, surrounded by the woodland of Hurtwood.

View from Pitch Hill

Highlight • Natural Monument

Pitch Hill is a dramatic summit atop a narrow sandstone spur that affords breathtaking views over the village of Ewhurst, as well as the Weald and the South Downs. The spot has extra significance for Beatles' fans as George Harrison's famous song 'Here Comes the Sun' was apparently inspired by the hilltop.

Situated nearby to the picturesque Surrey village of Cranleigh is the excellent vantage point of Reynards Hill.

The hill has been deemed the most romantic place to watch the sunrise or sunset in Surrey, and that's no surprise, it is the highest point in Hurtwood and affords some magnificent views across the surrounding countryside of the Surrey Hills AONB.
