A note on the descent as a possibly better option: continue following the downhill bike trail "L'Alpage" and merge onto the zigzag path via "Les Trois Maisons." (We had to practically abseil the bikes onto the path at an altitude of 1440 meters, near "Les Trois Maison," because the trail ended.)
