This route was planned by komoot.
The starting point of this loop tour is conveniently located near a parking area, making it easy to access. Specific parking details are usually available on local signage or through navigation apps.
While classified as 'moderate' and requiring a good fitness level, the paths are generally easily traversable and suitable for most skill levels. It's a great option for those looking for a slightly more challenging but accessible forest hike.
The trail is predominantly a forest path ('Sentiero nel bosco'), offering a natural experience. You'll encounter a mix of surfaces including sidewalks, hiking trails, secondary roads, and unpaved sections, with both natural and asphalt terrain.
The route features several unique points of interest. You'll pass by an old Washhouse of the Valle del Rio Pegorino and discover Rudimentary Shelters in the Forest. There's also a suggested path leading to Agriturismo Brusignone, where you might find local products.
The forest setting makes this trail enjoyable across multiple seasons. Spring and autumn offer pleasant temperatures and beautiful foliage. Summer provides cool shade, while winter can offer a serene, snow-dusted landscape, though conditions may vary.
Yes, the trail is generally dog-friendly, allowing you to bring your canine companion. We recommend keeping your dog on a leash to protect local wildlife and ensure a pleasant experience for all hikers.
Generally, there are no specific permits or entrance fees required for hiking on public trails within Parco Regionale della Valle del Lambro, including this loop tour. However, always respect park regulations and leave no trace.
While the starting point is easily accessible by car with nearby parking, public transport options to the immediate trailhead may be limited. We recommend checking local bus schedules or regional train connections to nearby towns and then planning the final leg of your journey.
Yes, sections of this route intersect with other local paths. You'll find it briefly crosses parts of Via San Desiderio, Via Cardinale Federico Borromeo, and Via Cascina Borgonuovo, among others, offering glimpses of the wider trail network.
Given its moderate difficulty and forest terrain, we recommend sturdy hiking shoes, sufficient water, snacks, and appropriate clothing for the weather. A map or GPS device is also advisable, though the loop is well-regarded.
While the trail itself is primarily natural, the suggested path to Agriturismo Brusignone offers a chance to enjoy local products. For more extensive amenities like cafes or restaurants, you would typically find them in the nearby town of Correzzana.
On this route you cross several streams, so be aware that you will put your feet in the water.
Today we also wanted to follow a hike suggested by komoot. The itinerary was 90% in the woods, so it's definitely great for the summer when it's very hot, but unfortunately in this period the woods are still completely bare. The sky was gray all day, so I wasn't encouraged to take any photos. The ground was very muddy. In the last 4/5 km we forded a stream (rio Pegorino) countless times (at least a dozen) and very close to each other, so be careful if you do the route after heavy rains. Finally, following the route suggested by komoot, we found ourselves in a field, fortunately not cultivated😃
