Just before the castle there is a small parking lot under the trees on the left, which can be used as a starting point.
A relaxing and scenic hike in northern Rügen, combining nature, history, and tranquil open spaces. The loop leads you through open fields, light woodlands, and along small lakes – always with the striking Spyker Castle as its cultural centerpiece. 🌿 Tour Character The route is easy to walk, mostly flat, and therefore ideal for a leisurely hike. Wide paths, few technical sections, and plenty of unobstructed views make it enjoyable even for less experienced hikers. ⭐ Highlights Along the Way • Spyker Castle – the oldest preserved building on Rügen, nestled in a park-like setting. • Spyker Lake – a tranquil, natural lake where waterfowl can often be observed. • Wide fields & quiet paths
Fourth hike on Rügen over a long weekend. This easy tour with almost no altitude difference combines everything that Rügen has to offer: quiet lakes with water birds, Bodden landscape, Baltic Sea beach, and a beautiful castle. The tour starts and ends at Spycker Castle (Schloss Spycker), the oldest secular building in Rügen. The Nobel hotel is no longer there, but the cafe is currently being operated again (even if Google says otherwise). First, we go beautifully along the Spycker See and Mittelsee, the reed belt is certainly a paradise for water birds. Pure natural idyll. Afterwards, a beautiful path follows along the Großer Jasmunder Bodden towards Schaabe. Through the coastal forest, you quickly reach the wide Baltic Sea sandy beach of Glowe, where there wasn't much going on today. The village also seemed a bit sleepy, but there are places to eat, e.g. Cafe 80 on the main street with a lot of 80s flair, but also delicious cake. After another 4 km, you complete the loop back at Spycker Castle.
Extended chicken god collection round (the view was enough for that😙) in tranquil Glowe, with plenty of holiday homes, long stretches of bay, some remaining cliffs. So Rügen compactly. At Waller Ort we took a path along the beach and didn't get any further - so it was better to stay on the main path. Beautiful: the iconic hypar bowl of the Ostseeperle restaurant in Bauing. Ulrich Müther can be seen in wonderfully renovated freshness and use. The quadruple version of this, built as an exhibition hall in Magdeburg, will also be completed this year after renovation. Running.
With lots of sun with my daughter and little granddaughter to the Jasmunder Bodden, always beautiful.
To conclude the short Rügen holiday, a hike along the Bodden and coast near Glowe was planned. The first part of the route thus led to the Bodden harbour. From here, the narrow hiking trail initially leads through the forest and later between bushes, which reminded us a little of Corsica. We noted with interest that the anglers here walk very far into the Bodden. Soon the landscape opens up and we walk on a wide dam path. The activities of the beaver can be seen in the accompanying ditch. Afterwards, the path becomes very sandy and gets very close to the Bodden. Here, various remains of several swans lie around on the shore, and many swans are swimming on the Bodden. Here along the Bodden, it is almost windless and wonderfully warm due to the sun. We walked through the forest to the coast and were horrified, because here, despite the sun, it was unpleasantly cool due to a strong wind. As a result, the beach section was correspondingly short, and at the next opportunity, we went to the beach promenade and treated ourselves to a cocktail at the Ostseeperle.
