Mountain biking

This is a longer mountain bike ride for experts only: a combination of fast flowing single track, technical features, challenging climbs and tricky descents.

You will start in Low Dalby and climb into the forest to go via Adderstone, then to Crosscliff Viewpoint (amazing views!) and then eventually back towards the starting point through Dalby Forest Drive and White Cliff Rigg. Lots of MTB-friendly features on the way and fantastic views.

Dalby Forest Blue Route First Climb

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

A good climb on the Red / Blue MTB trail here straight from Low Dalby. It can be difficult to begin with, but I suppose that's what it's all about, isn't it?

Dixon's Hollow Bike Park

Highlight • Trail

Dixon's Hollow Bike Park – 4X skills course, dirt jumps for experienced riders, and pump track. Great for practicing your skills!

View of Dalby Forest Edge

Highlight • Viewpoint

This is a fantastic section, with wonderful views over Langdale and towards Fylingdales.

It's also easy to ride, which, if you've tackled some grueling descents or ascents in the area, might be a welcome respite!

Vera Lynn's Section, Dalby Forest Red Route

Highlight (Segment) • MTB Park

Pretty techy, it's a good idea to stop and have a look at the first section if you haven't ridden before.

This is the second and last challenging technical descent of the Red Route, which leads into flowy berms down the hill.

Flax Dale Forest Track

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

This part of the Dalby Forest was a part of Trackrod Rally Yorkshire (car racing) in the past. There are terrific views above Flax Dale here.

Halfway through the segment, you can come off Red 36 and drop down (very steeply) towards Thornton Beck if you'd like, and from there on the flat north to Low Dalby. Or you can stay on Red 36, which then turns into Red 37, and reach Low Dalby from the east.

Absolutely a quality ride fast trails with hidden dips , berms jumps and drop-offs, almost 23 mile of trails winding round the whole of dalby forest, red route.

After two previous failed attempts of getting the full way round due to mechanical issues, today was the day everything went swimmingly and I sailed round with no issues! Not the wildest of centres by any means, but a decent ride on well maintained trails. Very quiet too, apart from one or two folk I passed on the fire road.

Some good old fashion climbs for those without E Bikes.

WOW! Thought I'd hire an EMTB. "Fast & fun" would sum it up.
