Are you ready to explore the Cape Forests, where works of art and ancient burial mounds await you? This 4.3 kilometer route is ideal for hikers of all levels.
What characterizes this wooded area is the large collection of burial mounds. You will soon come across one on this route. This is one of the many burial mounds from prehistoric times in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. These monuments were established thousands of years ago as burial grounds for prominent members of the community.
The route takes you further along varied forest paths, towards De Beaufort cemetery. This is a special place to be buried, in the middle of the forest where, in addition to natural beauty, you will also find a varied collection of works of art.
Ready for some reflection after these special Highlights? After more than 3 kilometers you reach a picnic table in the middle of the forest. An ideal place for a well-deserved break. Finally, you walk through the woods and along the fields back to the starting point.
