From the south bank of Lake Baldeney you have a beautiful view of Villa Hügel on the north bank and the sailing boats on the lake. The paths are very wide, but it can get quite crowded on the weekend.

There was nothing with video this time - little Rollei went on strike https://youtu.be/7YlKllJ-ZF8

First cycled to Vohwinkel to the S Bahn. No problems with the elevator, you should either just stand in front or in the back with the bikes, there are only the bike racks. Take the S-Bahn to Essen Kupferdreh, from there the tour around Lake Baldeney starts. I don't find the right side of the lake from Kupferdreh that attractive because the route for bicycles does not lead directly past the lake, only the footpath goes directly around the lake. There is also the possibility to travel across the lake with the white fleet and by bike. About 500m from the lake is the Villa Hügel (admission 5 euros per person) worth a visit. It is very impressive what the Krupp family has built there. The way back on the other side of the lake is definitely the nicer one for me, you just drive along the lake to Kupferdreh on extra wide paths.

The Baldeneysee is the recreational address for the city of Essen and the surrounding area. You are in a jiffy in a beautiful landscape. From water sports to hiking and cycling, there is something for everyone here.

A very nice loop around the lake with many opportunities for a break.

Very nice circular route around the lake which is unfortunately very overcrowded and many inconsiderate cyclists towards the pedestrians have cycled myself and will no longer do this tour on the weekends

Great tour around the Baldeneysee. But it's actually always very nice there. The south side is a bit nicer for cycling because you ride closer to the water. Even at an early hour it was already pretty busy. 2 playgrounds for the little one were also built in. And of course there was an ice cream at the favorite stall 🤤 Komoot hadn't started the recording again, so a small section is missing.
