The Municipal Natural Park of Parpalló-Borrell brings together a valuable redoubt of Mediterranean nature in the Valencian coastal mountains. The Borrell ravine is in the lowest sector of the reserve, it is a cliff of practically inaccessible slopes on the eastern slope of the peaks that model the reliefs of the Serreta del Surar and the Serra Grossa over the orange and lemon groves of the Marxuquera, a territory of great environmental quality that was declared a protected area in 2004 to preserve the natural ecosystems subject to the influence of the Mediterranean climate that condition the landscape of the area. The natural wonder of the ravine is the Portalet del Borrell, an isolated rock arch in the bowels of the mountains. Access to the starting point of the route is in the Montesol urbanization, on the mountain road that connects Gandía and Barx, right at the roundabout of the Borrell ravine bridge along the entrance road to the houses that occupy the slope of the ravine. The path immediately appears cut off by a barrier to prevent the passage of vehicles and next to it an information panel on the SL-CV 80 Senda del Portalet path, where there is parking space for three or four cars.
An excellent hike . First section has a very easy hiking track. The views open up very quickly into the hike. Breathtaking all the way. The path does narrow to a footpath after about 2k and is good up until the Mirador. It get slightly more challenging due to overgrowth. It's a shame I did not get to the end of the path today, but will bring some cutters next time to get rid of the briars. Bring a camera
