Very fast evening ride, so fast that the Garmin really screwed up with the altitude differences... it took more than 500 MT 😂😂😂
VIDEO LINK: https://youtu.be/Nkt05CZI5rA?si=uwFTvMeyWmYWB3av Route done with mountain bikes (not e-bikes). A good circular tour with 1,100 meters of altitude difference between dirt road, asphalt and paths in the woods, between Calolziocorte and Forcella Alta. Departure from Calolziocorte and go up the road towards Erve/Carenno. The slopes in this first part are not demanding. At the crossroads, go right towards Carenno until you reach the hamlet. Here you turn left entering the valley and the climb immediately becomes more demanding, exceeding 10% in some sections. After passing the hamlet of Boccio, the road turns from asphalt to dirt. When I rode it, the surface was compact and easy to pedal, between areas in the shade of the trees and parts in the sun. The climb continues to the top, near Monte Picchetto and then after a short semi-flat stretch you reach Laghetto de Pertus in the Forcella Alta area. For the return journey I opted for a change compared to the outward journey. On the eighth lap you come across a detour, still on a dirt road which, after crossing a stream, becomes a single track passing between some huts. After passing a group of houses you enter the woods, still on the path. Apart from a stretch with steps, the route does not have too many technical sections and you can enjoy being immersed in the greenery of the mountain, descending towards the valley. At Colle Sogno, the single track becomes concrete and then emerges onto the road. However, you follow it only for a short stretch because shortly afterwards you deviate to the right, on a surface initially made of grass and concrete (50 m) and from the first hairpin bend onto a single track in the woods. When I rode it, it had some slightly more technical sections also due to the wet surface and a bit of mud from the rains of the previous days, which did not allow good grip on the rockier sections. Continuing along the coast, you come out again onto a dirt road and then near Carenno it returns to asphalt. From here I preferred to return to Calolziocorte by taking a left, so as to also do this last stretch on a different route from that of the outward journey. A nice ride, fun and not too long!
Circular route from San Gottardo passing through: - Monte Tesoro (16.3 km) MC (BC traits) / OC challenging cycle excursion with push climb (20 minutes) to the summit of Monte Tesoro, difficult descent first on fixed rocks from the summit and then on a technical forest path. tiring ascent with some sections having to be pushed (about 10 minutes in total) due to steep steps. fun almost flow S2 descent called "La Muerte" with a few very short more technical bits (S3). final return on the "Sentiero della Valle" without any difficulty (S1).
Great ride through snow and clouds. The last part of the climb was panic-inducing with a lot of heavy snow on the ground. The descent was beautiful, apart from the holes in both wheels uncle 🐖🙈🙈🙈🙈
Last section up to S. Gottardo, redone after so many years, it is very decayed, better to continue on the track of the climb. Fangazza galore
Between fog and clouds a nice ride. Muerte with wet rocks is not the best and the paths were full of fallen branches it wants wind. So ride & clean today.. that's fine too💪🏽💪🏽
Varied route with a bit of everything. Scenic climbs and technical descents. Section S2 at the end is a bit demanding due to the collapse of trees on a muddy and rather slippery narrow track.
