This route was planned by komoot.
Starts around bus stop 28, and finishes by tram station 12
Overtime, a 'short' weekend and a beautiful sunny Saturday. Ingredients to find another round 'in the area' on komoot on Saturday morning to be able to clear my work head. The choice fell on the Westduinpark where I once walked with pleasure on a summer evening. The journey there by bus and tram was ridiculously long for travelling by public transport in the same region, but it was fun along the highlights of The Hague. Funny: the tourist tram where the tourists were all looking at their phones instead of looking outside. Walking to clear my head didn't really work out.. Mein Gute, it was so busy. People everywhere, behind every bend, tree or dune blade you could discover a fellow kind. And if you didn't see one for a while, you heard them: along the sports fields and via the first beats from a beach bar as a prelude to Saturday evening. Also fun: the little fellow kind, usually sprawled out whining on a path, refusing to take another step or pedal. I'm not complaining because I could have known that. I live in the busiest province of the Netherlands and the Westduinpark is surrounded and even infiltrated by residential areas so yes.. Moreover, I saw many nice dogs and their interaction with their human friend. It is also always nice to connect with your own kind by a compliment about their beloved pet or exchanging an endearing look of understanding when the doodle (it is often the doodles) approaches you enthusiastically. Then a little about the walk itself: next time turn around so that you have the wandering paths at the beginning and the beach tents for a closing cup of coffee at the end. Prepare for the crowds because it is only a postage stamp of green surrounded by buildings and immerse yourself in the Saturday feeling of your recreational fellow human being..
