This route was planned by komoot.
High-altitude route with constant panoramic views of Monte Rosa. The approach to Alpe Mera is on asphalt, arriving at the alp you continue on a dirt road, some sections have significant gradients but they are short sections, some patches of snow today but nothing major. The descent is easy, only a short section with loose stones where the hairpin bends are, but nothing difficult.
The tour begins with a climb up to Mera, where the dirt road begins, a long, panoramic traverse that, climbing further, takes us to the top of the hill and then descends along a beech forest to Rassa. Beautiful.
Beautiful ride in Valsesia. Despite the state of the Sesia, almost a trickle in this spring of 2023. Departure from Scopello from the car park and then go up for about ten KM essentially on asphalt up to Alpe di Mera. Along the route, traces of snow force you to accompany your bike. Wonderful view even on a day with very changeable weather. From here another climb and then a dirt path without any particular problems. Finally, a series of hairpin bends downhill on a very stony surface with a very steep slope. Arrival in Ressa via single track with some steps that can be tackled without problems and finally return to Scopello on the provincial road. 46%, 8
One of the most panoramic MTB routes ever, with splendid views of Valsesia and Monte Rosa

We did a similar ride last summer but took the ski lift up. Easy ride up a paved road. Incredible views along the long ridge of the mountain. Monte Rosa in the clouds. Then posted sign reads recommended walking the bike down. Large loose rocks and steep, but doable. Rassa is a beautiful little town with medieval bridges over Gronda torrent.
As always, the Alta Valsesia Cycle Route offers a technical and selective but wonderful route. Don't miss the village of Rassa, left behind in time. For the less trained, you can obviously use the e-bike
Wonderful day and meeting with the legendary @Borderpaolino + personalized superthing...better than this!
