Lovely walk especially today when sun was shining. Difficult terrain which could be difficult in wet weather as several steep climbs/descents when near Hadrian’s wall. Easier, flatter trial on military trail which could cause injuries like broken ankle! However views and experience make it worthwhile.
From the Steel Rigg car park we walked two kilometers east along Hadrian's Wall, which runs spectacularly over a cliff ridge here. Here is also the Sycamore Gap, a gap between the rocks, in which a lonely tree stands - of course a photo had to be taken here (besides the many many other photos...). Anyway, this is a very spectacular part of Hadrian's Wall. We also met a climber who was practicing abseiling on the wall.
