Nice hike, mostly on forest roads. I really liked the second half, with more trail. Thanks @Silke 🌞 for the template. I can always steal good tours from you. 😉 In the end, I added a loop to get over 30 km.
Finally on the road again. As training for the mammoth march in April, we had a great home run today. We are all pretty exhausted now (there were four of us).
A circular hiking trail around Müschede (Arnsberg) is a true natural highlight: dense deciduous and coniferous forests, quiet paths along small streams, provide pure relaxation. One highlight is the Hachen Castle ruins, perched atop the picturesque castle hill—a war memorial from 1924, with a historic flair. Another highlight is the Tempelberg near Müschede: here, forest huts with a small forest museum are idyllically nestled in the area's majestic forests.
This SGV circular trail is relatively well marked with an "M." I only deviated from the markings in Herdringen, hoping to see the hunting lodge, but no chance. If you don't mind the fact that the route mostly follows relaxed forest paths and through the villages on roads, this hike is for you. The reward is a wonderfully dense and green forest, or along the edge of the forest or between fields with wonderful views. I really enjoyed this tour. The detour to Hachen Castle is definitely worth it. The tour through Herdringen, on the other hand, is perfectly fine.
