A' Mharconaich Summit

Highlight • Summit

One of the Drumochter Munros, A' Mharconaich means 'the horse place', most likely named after a time when gathering horses occurred here. When you return to the road it is probably the most eye-catching of the hills here.

You should take the chance when the weather is good here... I've passed this mountain several times, it was never without clouds

April 25, 2022, Munro Route 49-50: Beinn Udlamain & Sgairneach mhor

Monday 25th April 2022 Munro Route 49-50 Kaspar I enjoyed our first solo hike to a few and our last two Drumochter Munros on the Perthshire/ Highland border. Navigation was definitely required for this circular route which had a mixture of good gravel tracks to pathless boggy sections. A good day overall with sunshine and snow.

No. 22 of my #100komootwanders_2022 challenge. 💛 Monday 25th April 2022 Kaspar I enjoyed our first solo hike. Since I only had these two of the Drumochter munros to complete it looked a good day for a drive up to the Perthshire/ Highland border and get them done. The weather was a slightly poorer than expected. Navigation was definitely required for this circular route which had a mixture of good gravel tracks to pathless boggy sections. An overall good day with everything from sunshine and snow.

My first hiking tour in the Scottish Highlands, overall I like them a lot 👍🏻. However, I could not see much of it directly on the hike. Unfortunately, the two Munros were surrounded by clouds and a decent, cloud-soaked wind was blowing. The hope remains that tomorrow will be a little better. https://www.relive.cc/view/v36A3jBmNGv
