The Calstock Loop can be enjoyed year-round, but spring and autumn offer particularly pleasant conditions with mild weather and beautiful scenery. In spring, you might even find abundant wild garlic along the paths. Summer is also great, but be prepared for more people. Winter hikes are possible, but some sections might be muddy.

Train out to Calstock. Walk up past the old mines and then a loop back to find the pub and cafe had no food 😱 The group had split and the peeps I was with arrived at the cafe to find there were no sandwiches only to get to the pub to discover the advance party had bought them all up 🤗
