This route was planned by komoot.
In the dunes, it's best to follow the horse-drawn path, not the Komoot. That's how you'll get there.
Fort-Mahon-Plage is located on the Opal Coast of France. We opted for a walk with beach, dunes and the nature reserve ‘Dunes de l’Authie’. The walk started with a breath of fresh air on the beach after which we braved a tough first dune. After that it was only sand. It was warm and we felt that. We also enjoyed the sun and nature. Once over the dunes there was a lot of meadow. We walked towards the entrance of Dunes de l’Authie. This is a protected area. There were boardwalks, viewpoints and numerous information boards with images that looked like paintings. With a bit of luck you can spot a heron. We did a loop of a good 2 km in this area, this also includes forest, another piece of dunes and therefore even more sand. Then we walked back towards the center of Fort-Mahon-Plage. And to finish we enjoyed a terrace. https://www.somme-tourisme.com/itineraire/la-dune-de-lauthie/ https://www.baiedesomme3vallees.fr
