Upper Pfossental / Valle di Fosse Alta

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Above the Eishof, the Pfossental becomes increasingly barren and the mountains visibly more dramatic. First you hike here on a wide hiking trail, but the serpentine-rich climb to Eisjöchl takes place on a narrow, rocky path.

always nice in Pfossenthal. Insider tip: the farmer's omlette in the Rableidalm (3rd Alm) is super delicious!

Wonderful easy hiking tour, first part also for small kids. Walked beyond the popular places, enjoyed a gigantic view.....
Always great: via the Meraner Höhenweg through the Pfossental. The views are simply overwhelming and the weather today is perfect! Definitely recommendable!!!!

We start 🚀at the Nassreidhof and continue to the Jägerrast (Vorderkasser). From there, we follow a gravel path to the Eishof🧊. Here, we can enjoy a culinary refreshment 😋before the ascent to the Stettiner Hütte. The ascent 🔝to the Stettiner Hütte follows an easily accessible route, originally built for military purposes as a supply route. Via the Eisjöchl, we then …

Nice tour to the Stettiner Hut. Because a mudslide had occurred, we had to move our starting point and drove from the Untervernatschhof to the Jägerhof. From there the Meraner Höhenweg was accessible again and we walked past the Eishof over the Eisjöchle to the Stettiner Hütte. Nice path looks good, almost too well developed.

On the 4th day of the Meraner Höhenweg, the so-called royal stage was on our schedule.🥾🎒 The goal was the Eisjöchl with the newly built Stettiner Hütte and thus the highest point of the tour.

We actually wanted to stay overnight in the Pfossental, but unfortunately everything was fully booked.🫣

Even though the tour was relatively long and had almost 1200 meters of elevation gain, it was a very enjoyable hike: good paths and a steady climb. The scenery is stunning! 🤩

The alpine path runs through the Pfossental, a side valley of the Schnalstal.
We started at the Jägerrast and went up to the Eishof via the Mitterkaser. There was a lot going on at the three farms. So we went straight on and after the last tree we had a really nice, quiet rest at a waterfall😍 and watched the …
