Beautiful tour in the Emsland over hill and dale through heath and moorland

Translated by Google

We had our vacation apartment in Geeste-Dalum. From there, we set off on various tours. The first tour took us from Dalum via Geeste to the Geeste reservoir. After a half-circumnavigation, the route continued via Biene, Holthausen, and Nordlohne to Lohne. There we took a short break at a country bakery. The journey continued past the Lohne recreational lake via Wietmarschen and back to Dalum. There weren't any major sights, but the scenery was beautiful. Here, you could say that the journey is the destination. Mostly beautiful bike paths or virtually unused side roads. For a few sections, the route also ran alongside country roads, on a dedicated route. These were very busy, which wasn't so pleasant.

From the Grafschafter town Georgsdorf on the south-north canal into the Emsland to the reservoir in Geeste and with the Ems back to the county to the Lohner See and Wietmarschen. Very nice 65km, worthwhile, recommended!

Tour 18 from the bog to the beach. Today we cycled from Wietmarschen (at our eastern neighbors) from a brochure of the Grafschaft Bentheim. A slick brochure that invites you to go cycling. With nodes, GPS (via internet) and nice descriptions. We had already heard from our route expert Truus Wijnen that the system is not yet completely in order. Thanks for this golden tip, because everything was not right. Fortunately I had the route right on the phone and we cycled large parts to the sound of Bram (that's his name). What also struck me is the complete lack of signs you approach knotenpunkt so much. Then you are suddenly at that point and you have to take a quick look at your junction paper. So too late. The 55 km route (including misses on my part) was nice. The starting point at the Stift in Wietmarschen is a picture. The church on the way too. The storage basin at Geeste is beautiful. Immensely large where you can really sail without getting bored quickly. The catering industry there was below average today. We've paused there before and it was great. Walking along the water is wonderful. Then again too much along busy 100 km roads but then again wonderfully through forests. Along yes marbles and cows that seem to have a nice life along the Ems. To top it all off, you pass the Lohner Sand (with a special kind of sheep) and the recreational lake Lohne. We had brought our swimming gear so that was great. So do you want to provide these bikes with a good app and the gpx (you can also request it from me). The nodes are an indication but not always in order. We always give stars to a route and this was max 3 out of 5.

Today I started at Lake Lohne and took a lovely tour through the Dalum-Wietmarscher Moor and the Emsland region. Many thanks to @Wiwam for the beautiful route. 😉@
