Trail Reviews

Ratón Camper
April 13, 2025, Desfiladero del río Mataviejas / Castroceniza - Ura \ Sabinares del Arlanza

A short round-trip hiking trail along a stretch of the Ura River, between Castroceniza and Ura. A comfortable route along a simple walking path. A walk through lush riparian vegetation, interspersed with the area's endemic trees, the white juniper, junipers, and holm oaks. Near the two towns, we can also find centuries-old walnut trees on private estates. As for the wildlife we saw at the time, we saw peregrine falcons, golden eagles, black and griffon vultures, wild boar, roe deer, foxes, and more. The walk should be done quietly, in complete harmony with nature, as it is home to several protected species. Enjoy this beautiful walk.
