By car to above the Strohlehenalm. Take the farm track to Präauaäm (refreshment stop). Then over the Tagkopf to the Heinreichalm (refreshment stop). Lots of blackberries and mushrooms on the way down.
With our hotel's hiking bus, we travel to Unterberg towards the Präau-Hochalm/Heinreich-Hochalm junction. From there, we hike through spruce forests and across beautiful mountain meadows to the Tagkogel, where we enjoy stunning panoramic views of the surrounding 3,000-meter peaks. Afterwards, we descend to the Präau-Hochalm for a leisurely rest and refreshment. Once refreshed, we hike along a forest path back to the starting point. Total walking time: approximately 5 hours. Requirements: Good fitness, hiking and mountaineering boots with a tread, and surefootedness.
It rained lightly at first, but it didn't bother me much on the farm track. Then the weather gradually improved, allowing me to complete the loop via the Heinreichalm. On the descent, I found some mushrooms. This week, I'm on vacation at home in the beautiful Gastein Valley.
