One of the big highlights this year is this beautiful gravel tour around the mountain range between Plansee and Wetterstein, dominated by the 2340m high Daniel ⛰️! 🤩 Under the motto: Take me to the gravel! (Tom Cruise probably meant something else 😏), we headed to Plansee on Friday afternoon with @Thomas Lacher and our little bikes to start the tour from there. This gravel tour is truly uniquely beautiful, and in two ways! The scenery is an absolute hit! Along the lakes and the Loisach River, you have water and nature at its best, and the surrounding mountains add to the charm! A truly fantastic cycling backdrop that is second to none! 🤩👌🏼👍🏼 In terms of route, the tour is a 100% pleasure for gravel bikers; so many different types of terrain make gravel biking exactly what it's meant to be! From fine gravel roads to narrow paths with some roots and rough, rocky sections, interspersed with short tarmac sections, it's all there! Smooth climbs and steeper gravel descents included; on short sections, you might wish you had a wide-tire full-suspension bike 😄 Narrow bridges, pasture gates, and sometimes wonderful bumps to jump over complete the offering! The view up to the Zugspitze is truly impressive, although yesterday it was a bit cloudy 😉 No problem, if I were to recommend a first-class gravel tour to anyone, it would be this one! 6 out of 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐(⭐)!! Oh yeah, and Groundhog Day... Today, after just 10km, I was out of breath... 🙄 My 4th flat tire in 4 weeks... Hopefully, I'm finally over it! 🤪
Yesterday, I pedaled a tour that had been on my list for a long time with @HAm 🧭 as an afternoon ride into the weekend 🚵♀️🌟🚵♂️. We started at the parking lot at the small Plansee (free of charge), from there along a great high-altitude trail with a great view of the Plansee. Then, we cycled along beautiful, varied paths through the forest over hill and dale with great highways 🛣️ that really make you want more, and along the Loisach River to Ehrwald. Once there, we had a little time to breathe some fresh air on the bike, as we unfortunately had a flat tire 🙈, but that didn't spoil the fun, as we're currently practicing 😉. With a fantastic view of Germany's highest peak, the Zugspitze, we continued with fantastic views of the surrounding area, past Lermoos, Bichlbach, and Heiterwang to Lake Heiterwang. We then continued along the lake to the beginning of the large Plansee, which we cycled along the western shore to the start of the tour. Tour summary: 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟+ from me, and I highly recommend it for gravel biking and mountain biking 🚵♂️⛰️🤗. For your information, pictures 16-19 belong to the end of the tour!!!
Unfortunately, I forgot to track the start of the tour from GAP to Griessen 😵💫 10-12km are missing in the final count 🤷♂️
A really great circuit. If you're ever here and have your gravel bike with you, then do the circuit. This is the best direction, as the descent after the Plansee is quite steep, long and gravelly. The ascent to the Zugspitze valley station is of course not a must 😂
