The Lech is the last natural river in the Northern Limestone Alps. From this point you have a particularly good view of the meandering river, the white gravel banks and the mountains of the Lechtal Alps.

Maria 🚴🏻‍♀️✌🏼
July 17, 2024, Tag 5 Bikepacking ~ Forggensee ~ via Claudia Augusta ~ Lechradweg Füssen ~ Steeg (Österreich) 🚴🏻‍♀️🚴‍♂️☁️❤️🇦🇹🧳⛰️

Our morning started with taking down our tent at the campsite. 🏕️ The night 😴 ended around 5, so we could leave as early as possible. Getting up wasn't difficult - we were surrounded by lots of snorers and the night was very restless. So we left the campsite on the beautiful Forggensee ⚓️ before the official opening time. The first major town 🏙️ was Füssen. In Füssen, too, we were approached by some curious and nice people and quickly got into conversation. Among them was a very friendly cycling coach, 🚴🏼‍♂️ who immediately recommended the best bakery 👨‍🍳 to us, where we had a good breakfast 🍳 🥐 at a completely overcrowded bakery. After that, it was a steady climb, but without any climbs... ever closer to the Lechfall. The further we drove, the more pristine the Lech became. Beautiful, almost unreal landscapes and always nice and strange people. We reached our destination, Steeg in Tyrol, early... but unfortunately we stood in front of the guesthouse for 1 1/2 hours, freezing 🥶 in front of the locked door🚪. Apparently this was due to a double occupancy of the room - which later turned out to be a mistake. A wrong booking on my part (1 month too late) was the problem. However, the nice host put us up in his son's guesthouse. He drove ahead in his car 🚗... we rushed downhill behind him. 🚴🏻‍♀️🚴‍♂️🌬️😅 But we got even nicer, better accommodation. Sometimes we've been very lucky 🍀 on our journey 🧳 and coincidence has often helped. Every day holds a surprise.
