Hiking

The Crozon peninsula is located in the far west of Brittany and in the middle of the "Parc Naturel Régional d'Armorique" nature park. When the gorse or heather are in bloom, a wonderful explosion of color takes place here. Fern grows as tall as a man and loose pine forest is spread over large areas. The coast enchants with countless bays and many beautiful beaches and the GR34 leads to one magnificent view after another.

However, the route along the coast has it all. Long stretches are rocky and sometimes even a bit steep up and down. The gentle sections in between are barely enough to blow off before it goes up and down again. But the journey is worth every drop of sweat. Just take enough water with you – you will need it in summer temperatures.

At the Ponte du Dolmen your path turns inland and then becomes flatter and easier to hike. First you walk through two picturesque old fishing villages and then through moorland, fern forests and under shady pine trees back to the starting point at Morgat.

View of Plage de l'Île Vierge

Highlight • Viewpoint

Nice point of view on the point. The beach on Île Vierge, very popular for its turquoise water, has been closed to the public since 2020. For good reason: its access on a steep and slippery path, considered too dangerous.

The customs officers' path (GR34) leads along the coast here. Very nice route, with wonderful views.

Kerroux Traditional Village

Highlight • Settlement

With the blue shutters and the hydrangea bushes in the garden, the old stone houses are a wonderful photo motif. Time seems to stand still here.

The Crozon Peninsula is a wonderful area for walking. The GR34 runs along the wild coast here and the next magnificent view awaits around every bend. A little sure-footedness is required, up and down rocky paths and plenty of water on warm days when the sun shines on the section. We don't make it all the way to the tip …

The western part of the Crozon peninsula is divided into three other small peninsulas, of which we choose the southern one for today's hike. The route along the coast is sometimes quite demanding, but the views of the coastal landscape are magnificent. The vegetation becomes more and more sparse towards Cap de la Chevre. The way back through extensive heathland …

The path led us today via the customs officers' path on the east coast of the Crozon Peninsula.
It went through light pine forests. On the ground in between, however, the fresh fern was already growing, which later in the year forms a high and dense thicket.
Wonderful views of the coast with its sandy bays and steep slopes were …

Today's hike across the Crozon Peninsula was actually planned differently. We wanted to take the coastal path from Morgat to Cap de la Chèvre to the south and from there continue along the coastline to Château de Dinan. But after we needed almost 3 hours for the first 5 kilometers on the demanding and sweaty path, our time budget would …
