Mousterlin is not just a small hamlet south of Fouesnant. Much more exciting for us is the designated nature reserve Mousterlin (Marais de Mousterlin). The approximately six hectare site consists of a large pond, natural polder meadows, dunes, swamps and peat bogs. Near the Pointe de Mousterlin, the swamp meets the Atlantic and this is where our circular walk begins. First we walk west, where the salt marshes of the Mer Blanche are separated from the Atlantic by a strip of dunes. There, the spirit of adventure grabs us and we cross the area barefoot through mud and water to take a look behind the dunes. We then follow the bay at Kermaout before heading inland to the Marais de Mousterlin. Then along the coast back to the starting point. A nice hike! The paths are easy to walk and very well maintained. The signage is very good and complete. Sometimes we accompany the GR34, sometimes we share the path with cyclists and every now and then there are gaps on small country roads. Today's hike mainly follows the Autour de Mousterlin. The route runs along well-signposted and walkable hiking trails. Every now and then, short sections also lead over sandy sections or paved roads, but this can hardly affect the positive overall impression.
