The Broadford Arboretum was once a limestone quarry but has been transformed into a place of tranquility and nature. It is the starting place of the Gleann na gCapall and the An Gleann Beag hiking loops and there is a car park adjacent to the west.

As you descend down through the farm towards Killagholehane Church ruins there are some fantastic views. There is a seat beside one of the stiles which makes for a great picnic spot.

Killagholehane Church Ruins and Republican Cemetery
Highlight • Historical Site
It is said that the layout of Killagholehane Church was marked out in a July snowfall when no decisions could be agreed upon about its location. The church was eventually dedicated to Our Lady of the Snows. Here you can also find an important Republican cemetery with the names of local people who died during the War of Independence remembered on a headstone.
