Trail Reviews

Bernhard Dingwerth
September 1, 2024, 🚶Ars☀️Natura🏆Challenge🚶‍♀️2024🌞

ARS-NATURA-Challenge - a slightly different hike along the approximately 28 km long "ARS-NATURA" trail The route led through the beautiful valleys of the Lande, Pfieffe and Vocke valleys. In addition to wonderful views, participants were treated to numerous works of art along the route. It was great that I was able to take part, even if the temperature was a bit too high for me today! https://www.spangenberg.de/freizeit-tourismus/kunst-kultur-events/ars-natura-challenge/

Superbly organized event on the Ars-Natura-Runde Spangenberg. It was a lot of fun 😊! Next year again! https://ars-natura-challenge.de/

I had been planning to take part in the Ars Natura Challenge for a long time. In recent years, however, something always got in the way. This year, too, it didn't really work out, as I was registered for the OmS community meeting in Cochem. Unfortunately, professional commitments got in the way and I couldn't take a whole weekend off. This was the opportunity to take part in the challenge on Sunday at least! 🤗 In bright sunshine, we started at 9:00 a.m. on the market square in Spangenberg. There were some familiar and unknown (Komootler) faces there. In particular, @Astrid @Bernhard Dingwerth and Achim were there. These three had accompanied us on parts of the Bartenwetzerpfad just two weeks ago. For the first few kilometers, my wife Kirsten and I ran in a larger group. We had lots of nice conversations and a relaxed Sunday morning had begun.☺️ At some point, the field spread out a bit. We then went the rest of the way with Bernhard. An entertaining round with you, dear Bernhard, which we had a lot of fun with. There were three VPs on the route. At the VP in Pfieffe after 15 kilometers there was coffee and cake. 🍰☕️ At the other points there was plenty of fruit, bars and cold drinks.🔝 We reached the finish shortly after half past two. A very nice round with some great works of art along the route. And at the end there was gelato in the ice cream parlor. 😋💪🏻

We have been planning the big round of Ars Natura for a long time, today everything should be fine👍 Start in Spangenberg, a beautiful half-timbered town, then it went uphill and downhill through the forest and over panoramic paths ... unfortunately the paths were mostly gravel or asphalt ... But it was easy to bear because of the many works of art along the way😃 Nature and art, a perfect combination, three villages were on the route and also provided variety! Nice round with fantastic views 😍🏞️ Stolen from Astrid, many thanks to you😘

The Ars Natura Challenge takes place in Spangenberg on the first Sunday in September. After a welcoming round in front of the town hall, the start countdown was counted down and we were off. First out of the city and then straight up a nasty hill. Right at the beginning, this climb was exhausting.😅 The round went through many beautiful landscapes and valleys. So up the hill, down the hill again and up the hill again on the other side of the valley. 🌄 In these temperatures, it was sometimes difficult for me. 🥵 The three supply points were well distributed along the route. There was enough to eat and drink and everyone at the VP was in a good mood. The last climb demanded everything in the heat. Finally at the top, I noticed that my shoes were broken. 🤭 I patched them up as best I could with tape and tackled the last few kilometers. At the fair in Spangenberg, the participants were led to the finish line over the red carpet. Done! 🎉

Great challenge. The start was the market square in Spangenberg. From there first up a grass path uphill. Short incline. Then through the forest towards Pfieffe for a lunch break. From Pfieffe about 2 km uphill again and then through a great landscape, you feel like in the Allgäu, back to Spangenberg. Culture is not neglected on the entire route. You can admire various works of art. A great round that I can recommend with a clear conscience. Good paths, great scenery and lots of great resting places along the entire route. Until next year
