Fancy hiking in Ireland's largest national park? Then the Djouce Mountain Loop in the Wicklow Mountains National Park might be just the thing for you! ⛰️ The circular hike starts at the free J B Malone Car Park and takes you most of the way over wooden steps and boardwalks to the highest point of the hike - Djouce Mountain (725 m). The hike itself actually has a nonstop panorama and is very easy to walk. The incline is leisurely and there are no difficult or exposed areas. Only the wind that sometimes blows here can require a bit of body stability. 😉 What we find particularly beautiful: the incredibly contrasting color scheme of the Wicklow Mountains. Sometimes they are lush green, sometimes tobacco brown and sometimes stone gray. Sometimes the colors change within a few meters of altitude. Once you reach the top of Djouce Mountain, you can also expect a 360° view that stretches all the way to the coast. Wonderful! 🤩 Before you start the actual hike, we recommend a short detour to “Lough Tay”. The dark lake, which looks like a Guinness beer with foam due to the white sand, is directly opposite the hiking car park. 🌊 By the way, here is our detailed blog post with all the stops and highlights of our 7-day Ireland hiking trip: https://www.loveandcompass.de/wandern-irland/ 📝
