WasserWeg Blausteinsee

On this family hike around the Blausteinsee, experience the change from an opencast mine to a wonderful local recreation area for young and old. Information boards along the circular route tell you about the history of the origins and other exciting features of the body of water. The WasserWeg Blausteinsee starts at the parking lot of the adventure world Blausteinsee or the nearby bus stop at the Dürwiß outdoor pool.

The first playground equipment and information boards are already waiting for you and your children at the adventure world. Then you walk through the reforested forest to the shore of the Blausteinsee. Where villages and fields once had to give way to lignite mining, there is now the lake with its leisure center. There you can try water sports, relax on the beach, enjoy the view from the lake stage or stop off in the restaurant.

We continue northwards, between fields and forest areas. Memorial stones and wayside crosses are reminiscent of villages that once disappeared in the course of opencast mining. The route then takes you along the north-eastern shore of the lake, which is a nature reserve, before you return to the starting point.
