A lap around the Blausteinsee with a friend this morning. It was glorious, cold and plenty of sunshine.
Today's Hike! For the first time at the Blausteinsee near Eschweiler! I really liked this great weather! I was traveling alone, felt very comfortable!
With temperatures around 32 degrees, it was cool water today. Luckily there was also enough shade in the "woods" near the shore.
After not having walked for three weeks due to ailments, chores etc. today I finally got my walking shoes out of the closet again to go for a walk around the Blausteinsee. 🥾💙 This time I chose a not too long walk, because after 3 weeks it takes some getting used to again. 😅 It was a bit chilly, but out of the wind and in the sun it was lovely to stay and we even got warm. 🌞On the way we came across a beautiful boulder from JolieNLRocks, but after taking a picture of it, we neatly put it back for the next walker. 🪨 After a nice 6 km we headed back home. 🚗 ▪︎▪︎▪︎ Information Blausteinsee: The open-cast Zukunft quarry has been filled with surface water since 1994, creating the Blausteinsee, 100 hectares in size and approx. 45 metres deep. The originally planned name was "Eschweiler See". Diving is possible from the northwestern shore, the western shore has a beach. The eastern shore zone is a nature reserve.
So far only cycled around the Blausteinsee, now I've done the circular route. It's really worth doing. Possibility at Rinkens or Seehaus53 can also take a nice break.
Nice walk along the lake, if you want to walk right along the water then the passages are a bit more difficult. Beautiful views and enjoy nature.
I also wanted to walk around the Blausteinsee, so Monday morning is a good time when the weekend rush is over. A nice walk and a nice start to my vacation 🤗
