Another beautiful day, September is coming to an end, and the sun is smiling down on us 🌞 22° "On the path from the Prussian Wall around Ruppichteroth, we walk 11.6 km today. There are many hiking trails in the Bergisches Land that introduce us to the nature and history of the region. This time we follow road no. 22. After a short section, we come to the roundabout where the old Wagoy mines are located; iron ore and lead were mainly mined here. The road leads us up the mountain to the first Prussian houses 🤗 as well as the first of several information boards that will accompany us on the path of the chess building. On the way to the dead road... and marvel at the panoramic view of Ruppichteroth and the Bröltal valley 😲 The route takes us through the village of Velken. It's beautiful here ☺️ Then we cross the Waldbrölbach stream, which is very picturesque here. On the other side, we walk into We walk around Oeleroth and admire the many beautifully maintained houses and gardens. Behind Oeleroth, a small path leads us steadily up the mountain. Joachim is already sweating, carrying about 15 kg on his back!!! After a few minutes, we climb to the summit and have a fantastic view of the Bröltal valley and the Nutscheid hills. We continue walking between the fields until we reach Lindscheid. According to the town sign, we have already crossed the municipal and district boundaries and are in the municipality of Nümbrecht in the district. Here, surrounded by nature, people live a beautiful dream 😍 Now it's time for a cold apple lemonade 🍎🍎🍎 delicious!!! Lindscheid is known for one company: Weber fruit juice press. Bergisches Land fruit juice bottles can be purchased directly here or in many supermarkets in the region. The name "Seuthe" on the house wall refers to the grandfather of the current owner, Klaus Weber, who established the gardens in the 19th century. We pass one of these orchards, leave Lindscheid, and hike southwest toward Ruppichteroth. The path leads us through two sections of the forest and through the fields. And Emcio has the opportunity to walk this path instead of just sitting on a stretcher. He walked 500 meters uphill. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 Bravo! Finally, from the upper edge of town, we reach Ruppichteroth. Here, quaint houses gather around the Catholic parish church of St. Johannes Severina. Its tower dates back to the 12th century and has seen a lot. The conclusion A beautiful hike through the Bergisches Land, and the name says it all: On the Fachwerkweg (Timbered House Trail), you can admire many half-timbered houses!
After the storm of the past few days, I didn't want to make any longer walks through the forest today. So the Bergische Streifzug 22 offered itself - the half-timbered path. Mostly it leads through open fields or through the idyllic half-timbered villages in the Bergisches Land. From time to time the path runs along the edge of the forest and only leads a short distance through the forest. A large part of the path is paved - it goes through villages - and otherwise it was pretty muddy to walk after the rain. Today was very pleasant. In other respects, too, I was very impressed by this foray. In many places I felt as if I was walking through an open-air museum and felt transported back in time. In between there were wonderful views of the vastness of the Bergisches Land, sometimes with sheep, sometimes with Galloway cattle and sometimes with striking trees. The heralds of spring were particularly beautiful today in so many places. That leaves you wanting more. The path is very well signposted - just follow the 22.
Very nice hike...although there is a high proportion of asphalt, but the beautiful old half-timbered houses, pure tranquility and great views make up for it! Nice rest stop in the inn at St. Severin in Ruppichterroth!
Journey through time into the history of the "Wild Man" and the "Bergisch Triad" This 11.5-kilometer circular trail through the region's half-timbered houses shows how people around Ruppichteroth have been "building their lives together" for centuries. Eight information boards along the way explain how a half-timbered wall is made from beams, rods and a mixture of clay and manure. The carpenters' art of joining beams together to form a stable structure is passed down from generation to generation. The fact that they use neither screws nor iron nails may be just as surprising as the ancient carpenter tradition of setting off on the "journey" with a bundle of belongings during the first years of their apprenticeship.
On the way in the cloudy Bergischesm, round of Ruppichteroth. Quite a few things crossed my path... old mine stories, beautiful half-timbered houses, rain from above and rivulets from below, dark coniferous forests, a short stretch of extremely mud and two buffalo that looked like they were from primeval times. At home I treat myself to fresh waffles and a happy smile...
This very well marked circular hiking trail leads through very beautiful little half-timbered villages (oh). There are no paths, but you can look forward to beautiful views of the Bergisches Land and complete peace.
Today was the last day of the "Ice Saints"...really???🌞🌞 sweat!!😓😓. I had no idea how quickly you can long for shadows😜. About the tour: Like all Bergische forays, this one (No.22) is well signposted. The gastronomy is more than sparse for that, so pack enough 🥯💧🎒. The path mostly leads over small paved farm roads. I estimate the forest (path) share to be a maximum of 25%. But that didn't bother us, because there is hardly any contact with cars and despite the motorcycle season, we found the half-timbered path to be very quiet. On the way there is actually a lot of half-timbering to admire, including interesting information boards on the construction and history of the half-timbering 👍. Conclusion: For me one of the most beautiful Bergisch forays with a varied landscape, wide views and many picnic benches, which you also need because of the lack of gastro 😜. P.S: We started at the empty Penny parking lot because the parking situation in the center of Rupichteroth is rather modest. In addition, maybe not every half-timbered house needs three tourist cars for "embellishment"😱
