This route was planned by komoot.
Today we hiked 🚶♀️🚶♀️this very beautiful tour in France. A challenging route that requires surefootedness 🥾.
Funny. I'm pretty sure I spent the night in the window in châteaux Nideck over 40 years ago (after hitchhiking from Tübingen). It's a dangerous climb up broken wooden stairs but it looked as if its possible to get to the top. Not possible 40years ago.
Since my cold is really bad and persistent, but I desperately needed the forest and exercise, I looked for a shorter tour on my list. I didn't feel like being in the crowds of people on overcrowded trains and waiting around today. So off we went to the Vosges. Parked for free at the school in Oberhaslach. The first climb was tough with lots of breaks to catch our breath. The rest was doable. And apart from the waterfall, there wasn't much going on. Well, the route was so great that the planned 12 km turned into almost 20 km 🙈.
