This gorgeous coastal village marks the capital of the Isle of Mull, one of the islands that make up the Inner Hebrides. Built as a fishing village in 1788, Tobermory has rows of brightly coloured houses that give this place great character.

Today it's a well-loved tourist attraction, featuring the Tobermory Distillery and was the setting of children's TV show Balamory. You'll find plenty of places to eat, drink and stay here, as well as gorgeous shops filled with local arts and crafts.

Eas Fors Waterfall

The Eas Fors waterfall is one of the most spectacular waterfalls on the island, located just off the B8073, a few kilometres north of Ulva Ferry. There is a captivating view over Loch Tuath towards the island of Ulva.
The place name 'Eas Fors Waterfall' is tautological, as all three words are synonyms. This often happens when a name is taken from one language and a standard description from that second language is added. Eas is Gaelic for waterfall, Fors is Norse for waterfall, so you could say Eas Fors Waterfall makes the meaning somewhat redundant!

The Isle of Ulva was, in past years, the home of 600 people, who made their living from the collection and exportation of kelp. Today there are under 20 residents who make a living from sheep and cattle farming, fish farming, oyster farming and tourism.

There are no tarmac roads on Ulva, so no cars, just the 4 wheel cross country bikes used by all inhabitants, young and old. The new owners are dedicated to creating a balance between the needs of the community and the preservation of one of Scotland's most unique, beautiful and accessible islands.
