Starting at the Oberbergen-Mondhalde P station, follow the yellow diamond trail, then immediately climb steeply for approximately 1.5 km to the Badberg. After a short descent to the "Schelinger Kreuz," climb again to the "Schelinger Höhe" (matte). From here, a constant up and down to the Katharinenhöhe with its chapel of the same name. After a rest, follow the yellow and red diamond trails, with short climbs, down to the Straußenweide and back to the starting point. A beautiful, initially somewhat strenuous tour, in good hiking weather.
Today we made the most of the rain-free time of the day and went for a little walk from the hiking car park 🅿️ at Bahlinger Eck. Over Badberg, down the beautiful, scenic ridge to Oberbergen and back up to the Katharinenpfad and then back. In Oberrottweil we tasted some Muscat 🥂 and bought it, then had a delicious ice cream at the ice cream parlor opposite the winegrowers' association and then leisurely walked home in the thunderstorm with hail. The timing couldn't have been better. 😄👍
The hike was very beautiful. I wouldn't recommend it in summer, as there are very few trees providing shade.
As the Swabian says: LmaA That was a nice tour! Varied through vines 🍇forest 🌳meadows UP and DOWN but something like HELLO!!! I don't need 2,000 euros! The breather at the Katharinen Chapel and the stop at the Vogel Ostriche for a Rivana and sauerbraten were wonderful, we more than deserved that. Hike back🥾🥾
It is a very beautiful hike, with a very steep start but an extraordinary landscape and view through the stubble fields and a calmer return through the forest before returning to the terraced vineyards.
ran : Green Lizard Trail Catherine Path Badbergpfad seen : great view of Oberbergen again and again look at the skull View to the Eichelberg View to Badberg not seen : Green lizard Catherine Path from km 10.3 almost not seen: mantis had: a very nice round great hiking weather 😉 🙋♀️
Today's spontaneous Schelingen tour in the heart of the Kaiserstuhl was actually just a combination of "lunchtime and evening walks" for Max and Aunt Käthe. The two wauzis are used to walking at least 10 km a day... Well, since I (unfortunately) have time for this until further notice "due to illness", we ran the always wonderful Kaiserstuhl tour. It has never happened to me (us) that we were out and about alone, but today the "Kaiserstuhl Premium Tour" belonged only to us!! All hiking parking spaces empty - no meeting with hiking colleagues. Not great weather, but somehow mystically beautiful! It was great!! 👌
After the day brought a lot of frustration and I also had a slight headache, I decided to do this evening lap to relax. So I drove to Oberbergen without further ado and started this lap around 5 p.m. After walking a few meters, it started to rain. Suddenly, along with the rain, the sun began to shine. I always find such capricious weather exciting and beautiful (if they don't turn into constant rain). It wasn't long before there was a beautiful rainbow to marvel at. Since I wasn't standing at any vantage point and the vineyards were always in between, I couldn't see the whole rainbow: once only the right arch and a little later the left arch - it was still wonderful. Again and again I had the unmistakable Badberg in mind with its extensive meadow slopes, over which I later hiked back to Oberbergen. Now the sunshine was my companion. From the snail mountain I hiked along a beautiful path until I came across the Katharinenpfad at the Staffelberg. On this it went past the Schelinger cattle pasture over the Katharinenkapelle in the direction of Bahlinger Eck. In front of the Degenmatten hill in the Haselschacher Buck nature reserve, six young people (or young women) were walking in front of me, packed with bags (with a picnic). At first I was like, "Oh god, party brats again." But the outfit didn't look "that menacing." I overtook a part. As I walked behind the first two, they began to sing in two voices - beautifully. When they noticed me, they stopped. I tell them they could keep singing and how great that is – they said it was a bit tiring to walk. While I was taking a drink break on the hill in the twilight and enjoying the view of the interior of the Kaiserstuhl, the Black Forest and the Vosges again, all six girls were upstairs. One pulled out a ukulele and they started singing - and how... beautifully - like the nightingales! I would have liked to have listened for a while, but unfortunately had to continue on my way because of the falling darkness. I didn't have a flashlight with me and it's pretty hard to see the path over the Badberg in the dark, especially since it was very overcast. I complimented the girls again, which made them happy and wished them a nice evening. In any case, it was a very nice evening for me, which brought me the relaxation I had hoped for and ended in satisfaction.
