An experience even when the weather is cloudy: the wild and romantic Eyachtal in the northern Black Forest.
From the Dobel water tower you have a wonderful view over the northern Black Forest, but the tower is only open in summer... The tour was created by Albtal-Tourismus and the GPS data can also be found. The first km is more of a wide path than a forest path, another km is a gravel path... From here a trail begins that leads into the Eyachtal. Shortly before Lehmanshof you are once again on the paved path. But then... At this time of year you need sturdy shoes, the Eyach has significantly more water due to the melting snow and the rain and the paths are correspondingly wet, ankle deep. If you're taking a leisurely hike, we recommend taking a break at the Eyachmühle; the restaurant looks inviting. After the mill you go up a meadow to a paved forest path. There is a wigwam-like tree house nearby that can also be rented for overnight stays....
Today we went on a hike with friends in the Black Forest Nature Park. Compared to the previous day, when temperatures were over 20 degrees Celsius, today it was cold (around 5-10 degrees Celsius) and also windy. The hike started at the water tower in Dobel and then continued gently uphill along a beautiful hiking trail. What was really nice was the water trail along the Eyach River. After the water trail, the Eyachmühle Inn awaits. It's worth taking a final break there for coffee and cake. From there, the climb continues from 480 meters up to 710 meters. But it was quite relaxing on a really beautiful forest path. Starting again in Dobel, we wanted to get something to eat. But even the locals we asked where we could get something to eat said there was nothing there. So we drove to Bad Herrenalp and found something there. Our conclusion: a very nice hike that our friends had chosen.
Made use of the great weather and followed a tip from a Youtuber. Since the path outside of Dobel is still very sparsely signposted, there are probably different variants online. You can get the GPX data from Albtal Tourismus: https://www.albtal-tourismus.de/tour/von-dobel-ins-tal-der-lehmaenner-fernsicht-und-bachidylle-98447b5fc3
Beautiful tour, especially the part along the stream is almost fairytale-like in a fairy-tale landscape. Lots of moss. Paths are sometimes very wet. Easily doable for experienced hikers 2024-September Parking at the Kurhaus Dobel costs 4 EUR. But there was enough parking space nearby. The coffee shop on the corner - start/finish is recommended, as is the inn along the way.
Beautiful round the path in the Eyachtal is really great and with all the puddles today a great playground. When the weather is good in summer, it's definitely really great.
Except for the hiking section along the Eyach, this new premium hiking trail is not yet recommended. The first part was immensely characterized by forestry, only small sections were idyllic, which we captured in the photos. In addition, the first third was mostly downhill, which wasn't ideal. The way back - from the Eyach uphill - was almost exclusively a forestry path - gravel path and felled trees. A pity. The beautiful Eyachtal can also be wonderfully explored without this path.

ATTENTION! The hiking trail "Into the Lehmanns' Valley" is currently being rerouted due to logging operations. Postweiler Weg is closed. The detour runs from the Lehmannsweg – Gerstelweg intersection via Kreuzrainweg and then along Lehmannsweg. From the Carl-Postweiler-Weg – Lehmannsweg intersection
